Below is the standard format for our weekly quiz along with two other example quiz formats. Please feel free to either replicate or adapt these for your own quiz.
Bubble Tree's Weekly Quiz
Round 1 - Distribute 1 handout round to each team at the start of the quiz along with blank answer sheets on which they can they write their answers to all subsequent rounds.
Round 2 - Ask 10 questions on a general subject (e.g. "Geography").
Round 3 - Ask 10 questions on a specialist subject (e.g "Comics And Cartoons").
Round 4 - Ask 8 questions as part of a connections round.
Short break.
Round 5 - Ask 10 questions on another general subject (e.g. "TV And Films").
Round 6 - Ask 10 questions as part of an "Initial Letter Link" round.
Round 7 - Ask 5 questions as part of a "Stick Or Twist" round (5 questions increasing in point value and in difficulty where teams can decide to stop answering questions at any point, but if they carry on and put a wrong answer down the score no points for the round).
Short break then collect in answer sheets and handout rounds and mark quizzes.
Short Quiz
Round 1 - Distribute 1 handout round to each team at the start of the quiz along with blank answer sheets on which they can they write their answers to all subsequent rounds.
Round 2 - Ask 10 general knowledge questions.
Round 3 - Ask 10 questions on a specialist subject (e.g. "Myths And Legends").
Short break.
Round 4 - Ask 8 questions as part of a "Connections" round (7 general knowledge questions plus 1 question worth 3 points asking teams to identify the connection between the previous answers).
Round 5 - Ask 10 questions on a general subject (e.g. "Sport").
Short break then collect in answer sheets and handout rounds and mark quizzes.
Long Quiz
Round 1 - Distribute 1 handout round to each team at the start of the quiz along with blank answer sheets on which they can they write their answers to all subsequent rounds.
Round 2 - Ask 10 questions on a general subject (e.g. "Science And Nature").
Round 3 - Ask 10 questions on a specialist subject (e.g. "Famous Quotes").
Round 4 - Ask 8 questions as part of a "Connections" round.
Round 5 - Ask 10 true or false questions.
Short break.
Round 6 - Distribute another handout round to each team.
Round 7 - Ask 10 questions on a general subject (e.g. "Entertainment").
Round 8 - Ask 10 questions on another specialist subject (e.g. "The Far East").
Round 9 - Ask 10 questions as part of an "Initial Letters" round.
Round 10 - Ask 5 questions as part of a "Stick Or Twist" round.
Short break then collect in answer sheets and handout rounds and mark quizzes.
